I’m Penelope Querida—querida, meaning “the beloved one.” It’s a lovely name to live up to, and one I do my best to earn.

As a Seattle native now happily calling Washington, DC home, I’ve brought with me a little of the Pacific Northwest’s curiosity, warmth, and tendency to wander just beyond the well-worn path. I like to think of myself as a reminder that life becomes infinitely more interesting the moment we allow ourselves to color outside the lines.

Perhaps that’s why I’ve always felt rather at home in Wonderland.

Not because it’s nonsensical, but because its greatest lesson is that perspective changes everything. Sometimes all we need is someone willing to take our hand, lead us through the looking glass, and remind us that the extraordinary has been waiting just beneath the surface all along.
